Fortis Mohali Successfully Operates Children Under Rotary Heartline project
1 min readMohali, January 18, 2024: Fortis Hospital, Mohali successfully operated on five children under the Rotary Club of Chandigarh’s Heartline project. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old girl, Daphine, from Zimbabwe arrived yesterday at Fortis Mohali with her mother for her second corrective surgery.
The World President of Rotary International Dr. Gorden R. McInally visited Fortis Hospital Mohali and met five children and their parents who were operated successfully recently. Dr. McInally along with past Rotary International President Rajendra K. Saboo, Rotary Club President Anil Chadda, Teena Virk and AP Singh, met with Dr TS Mahant, Executive Director and Head-Cardiac Surgery, Fortis Hospital Mohali and team of cardiologists and expressed his gratitude for the yeoman service they are doing in saving the lives of the children.
He met the Anu, 8-year old girl from Naya Gaon, District Mohali who was successfully operated at Fortis by Dr. Mahant on 16th January. He also met the 16 years old girl, Daphine, from Zimbabwe who arrived yesterday with her mother for her second corrective surgery, having been operated earlier in 2016 at the age of 9, when she was informed that she would require the surgery again.
Fortis Hospital is a partner of Rotary Club of Chandigarh in its Rotary Heartline project under which free heart surgeries are done. Rotary Club of Chandigarh had started this project under the name of Gift of Life in 1999, and since than 777 lives of children have been saved with its partner hospitals PGIMER and Fortis Hospital.
