Thrill Zone Organizes the 14th Edition of the Punjab Half Marathon 2024
2 min readChandigarh, November 10, 2024: The 14th edition of the Punjab Half Marathon 2024, organized by Thrill Zone, concluded successfully today with an impressive turnout of 1,500 runners from across India. Held at the iconic Chandigarh Club in Sector 1, the marathon offered a well-marked route leading to IT Park before looping back. Participants showcased extraordinary dedication across three race categories—21.097 km, 10 km, and 5 km—with a substantial 28% female and 72% male participation rate.
In a heartening addition, 15 visually impaired runners from Punjab University took part, demonstrating the inclusive spirit of the event and inspiring participants and spectators alike. The race winners (names and timings to be announced) emerged with outstanding performances, epitomizing the competitive spirit of the marathon.
Maj Gen Mathew Jacob, Commandant of the prestigious Military Hospital of Western Command was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Race Director of the event was Gaurav Karjee.
The Punjab Half Marathon 2024 marked the 115th event organized by Thrill Zone since its inception in 2015. Founded by PC Kushwaha, Thrill Zone is known for fostering a robust fitness culture in India, organizing marathons and running events across various cities to bring people together in celebration of health and endurance.
Participants were well-supported, with each runner receiving a race T-shirt, finisher medal, finisher certificate, bib, hydration support, refreshments, and dedicated medical support on-site and along the route.
The Punjab Half Marathon has become a biannual highlight, with the next edition scheduled for April 27, 2024, at the same venue. Thrill Zone anticipates a record turnout of 5,000 participants as it continues its commitment to growing the running community in India.
