A grand show of innovation marked the National Science Day celebrations at CGC Landran
2 min readMohali, February 28, 2022: To foster the spirit of innovation and challenge the creative skills of the students, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran organized an Inter-College Science Competition on the occasion of National Science Day. More than 1500 students from distinct schools and colleges besides CGC Landran took part in the event and presented over 300 remarkable projects based on the current societal challenges.
Dr. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and was accompanied by Dr. Neelkanth Grover, DSW-PTU, Dr. Vijay Meena, Sr. Scientist, CSIO, AmanVerma, MD, UES, and Harjinder Singh, MD, Cheema Boilers as the Guests of Honor.
Addressing the students, Dr. Rajeev Ahuja shared, “With two aspects namely Innovation and Collaboration, we can succeed in taking India to a new high among the Top Innovative Countries of the World. Our aim should always be to reach a spot in the Top 5 such countries and with youngsters forming a majority chunk of our nation’s population, we can surely achieve this target. IIT Ropar is eager to collaborate with CGC Landran to promote innovation among the young minds with collective endeavors.”
The event also witnessed a cultural fiesta ‘Festin-o-Beats’ that was another stupendous exhibition of talent and flair. The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony.
Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman CGC, and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC truly appreciated the creativity of the students and motivated them to think out of the box to stay ahead in times to come. Chairman Satnam Singh Sandhu further stated, “Youngsters today should look beyond the conventional means of problem-solving. They must focus on coming up with novel innovations that are worthy of fulfilling the needs of the society.”
