These words were uttered by the Principal Chief Forest Officer (HoFF) Parveen Kumar IFS Punjab during a meeting of officials of various departments regarding eco tourism project convened at Van Bhawan, SAS Nagar Giving details of the meeting, he said that Siswan Forest falling under Mohali Division in which 3200 acres of Community reserve has been declared and 92 acres of this forest which was taken for construction of irrigation (Dam), The forest department had set up Siswan Nature Awareness Camp on the land of irrigation and Dams Department, which has been receiving overwhelming response from the general public. Everyday hundreds of eco-tourists/travelers flock here and become aware while enjoying the view of nature/forest.
This meeting was held by him jointly with the department of Powercom, department of irrigation (Meli-Dum), department of fisheries and department of Wildlife Conservation and department of forest etc. for the smooth running of this project/camp. Suggestions and figures were also discussed. During the meeting Conservator of Forests (Shivalik Circle) Vishal Chauhan, IFS, Kanwardeep Singh, IFS Ganana Prakash, IFS and Divisional Forest Officer Arun Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer Guramanpreet Singh and Amit Sahota XEN spoke.
At the end of the meeting, Guramanpreet Singh, Divisional Forest Officer, SAS Nagar and the Executive Engineer briefed the officers of various departments about the future expansion of the site and requested for cooperation from all the departments. To make the general public aware of the importance of forests and wildlife.
It is also worth mentioning that at Siswan Nature Awareness Camp, visitors enjoy boating, angling, bird and animal sightings, restaurant, eco-friendly tents and herbal garden/open lawns and in addition get awareness by walking around the nature trail
